3VZE Capatability

I recently snapped a rod in my 92 4Runner 3VZE and am curious what years would work. A friend more familiar with Yota engines mentioned only 90-92 3VZE V6 engines would swap directly. But, it appears the 3VZE engine was available for more years than 90-92. I found a 3VZE from a 93 runner and am curious as to what the potential differences and problems would be during installation into my 92 4Runner.

Thanks

hmmmm as far as the con rod I dont know, but the only difference that Im aware of is the timing belt tensioning system which would have no bearing on the conrods...

ttt - Maybe someone else knows?

Any V6 thru 94 should be an easy swap. Are you talking complete swap or changing out engine parts?

there are bolt hole differences in how the motor mounts bolt to the block. There is only 2 styles I believe, 2 bolt and 3 bolt. There was a post on here somewhere a few month's back where I posted a few pics to help another member out who had purchased a newer motor to find he had some mount issues.

Thanks for the responses. Im swapping the entire engine. I've heard that the altenators may be different. I dont mind swapping some things out as long as it works with the ECU. I wonder if the motor mount thing will work if I use 93 mounts and where it mounts to the frame is the same. Anyone else have any more info on this swap? Perhaps I should try to find a 92 engine. Tough to find a one or two year only part, let alone engine.

You find me a 1993 engine with similar miles and I will trade you for the 1992 engine I'm about to pull out of a donor 4Runner to put in my '93.

90 - 94 should be the same 3.0 v6. as you already know make sure it matches up w/ the ecu otherwise you're gonna be in for a lot more than you were planning.

There are slight differences between the 89-92 engines and the 93-95 engines. 90-94 are NOT exactly the same.
