3VZ Manual 4x4 crossmember question
OK, here goes. I have an auto 2wd 95 4Runner. The 3VZ , a manual trans/transfer case (purchased today,R150F) is going into my 91 pickup. (which is already set up for 4wd, but with a 22re) Will the 2wd trans crossmember work if I change out the trans. mount/bushing?

From what I have seen the trans mount that uses the 4 bolts that goe into the trans itself is wider on the 4x4 trans than on the auto....and the partsstores sell them seperately , one for autos, one for manuals. The crossmember seems to dip down and angle forward on both vehicles, I am gong to do some masuring and figuring....but while I am her...does anyone have a r150f tranny crossmember for sale?

Well.....I put the auto tranny on the crossmember..mocked it up as if it were in the truck....then measured from the face lip on the bellhousing to the front edge of the crossmember...then i sat the r150f tranny and t-case on the auto crossmember, but with my 91 22re 5spd mount on it..and measured from the same place.......same length!!! 25 1/4"..!!! So now all I have to do is go to autozone, purchase a tranny mount for the r150f, bolt it to the crossmember, and there you have it....I knew Toyota was too smart to make 6 different crossmembers....they just modified the mounts to accept a longer or shorter tranny!!!!The mount for the r150f is different than the 91 22re 5spd 4x4tranny mount because of the location of the 4 bolts that hold it to the mount, they are further up on the right side than the other...to counteract the weight difference of the right drop transfer case.....so now that that is out of the way, just have to fab up some motor mounts and away we go!!!!!!
