Why dont you just get a 2" suspension lift with balljoint spacers up front and land cruiser coils in the rear and find rims with less than 4" of backspacing? 3.75 backspaced rims and fender flares will allow you to run 33x12.5's with a 2" body lift with ease, no rubbing, nada but a suspension lift is better. The backspacing acts like the wheel spacer.

What do you wanna do? Do you want a true lift or do you wanna be a mall crawler?
I plan to do a long tour and journey with my 4X4. I will be traveling on across winter roads as well as pavements initially. Check out Manitoba, Canada map. I will be crossing that big lake. I think maybe 33x12.5 would give me more grips and taller tires will help me get out of stuck situations a little bit easier. I am going to invest in a winch too. No rock crawlings for me.

i would also suggest ball joint spacers and ome 901 coils or for some rake, cruiser coils and get some 3.75 wheels and mount those 12.5's.

Ok here is what you do:

Find some landcruiser coils for the rear, that will give you 2" of lift in the rear.

Get some BJ spacers for a 1.5" lift up front.

Then get a 1-2" body lift

Then a set of shocks for a 4" or so lift

YOUR SET! This will allow you to run the proper tires and rims, and it will work offroad really well. Its also a really cheap but effective setup.

you'll get more than 2"s with cruiser coil, but bj spacers and tbar crank will even it out... one thing to consider if you are actually gonna cross some ice is tires that will accept studs... I mean cmon we live in canada dude.... you could be running 35s with 95% tread and I could have bald summer tires from a tercel that have studs in em and I will haul ass around you... maybe not in deep snow but still.... go to a tire place and ask cause different rubber compounds make all the difference along with tread design and as I said,... big metal spikes ...(plus it looks sweet)

Ugh, ok one more time......33x12.50's on stock wheels with the proper stock ride hight will be just fine. I know for a fact that if you had searched I have at least three threads posted in about this.

I ran a BIAS PLY 32x12.50 on the stock 7" wheels on my '94. NOTE a 32" bias is extremely close to a 33" radial in diameter yet the bias is wider due to the nature of the belts. I had ZERO rub and ZERO lift up front.

I'm running 33"x12.5" Herculese MT's on the factory rims on my Runner (stock). I have yet to hit the pinch weld, but in the rear I've hit the sheet metal quite a bit...

That looks mean. Is that picture with factory coils in the back? You mentioned that that it hits in the back, therefore, I assume you vehicle does not have aftermarket coils.

Is that a custom hood scoop?

Did you have to crank the torsion bars

The hood scoop is off my old 86 Mustang 5.0. Torsion bars are at stock height as well...

Good job on the hood scope but is it functional?

I am defintely going with 33x12.5 for sure. Looks just right.

Any chance you might have a side view pic of your 91? I would like to see it. Thanks.

As for functional - not yet... Haven't decided on how I'm gonna keep the crap (sticks/leaves) out yet... Maybe some expanded mesh on the underside of the hood that I can remove to clean it... But still not sure...

Side view.... Yep.... This is right after I painted it...

Here are a few others..... Here's a year later.... Don't mind the crappy patch on the rear quarter... Just a qiuick patch job...
