31's on a 4x2???

I have a 1995 4runner 4x2 that i am about to put new tires on. it currently has 235's but it comes stock with 225's so i am wondering if anyone knows if it will tuck 31's like all the 4x4's come with.

most 4x4s came with 225/75R15s stock. i think you'll need a body lift to fit 31s on a 2wd truck.

i alredy thought of the body lift but i have an automatic and from what i've heard you cant put a body lift of an auto so i guess ill just have to go with 225's or 235's

naaa you can too, body lifts usually come w/ steering extensions, shifter extensions and so forth. you should be able to fit 30s.

Many of the 4x4 4runners came with 225's also. you should have no problem fitting 31's.

Uh, guys the suspension is TOTALLY different. The analogies to 4WD don't apply AT ALL.

I had the old Fabtech Ivan Dan longtravel lift on my 2WD (7" lift IIRC) and 31x10.50 STILL rubbed pretty significantly. They were on KMC rims - no idea what the backspacing was.

my first 4runner was 2wd and i ran 31 BFG AT's with no problems. the 31's will dramatically change the appearance, i would highly recommend it
