3" Downey Lift w/ 31 BFG AT

Thanks to everyone on yotatech for helping this newb w/ all the suspension questions and install questions. I finished the install which went pretty smooth. I ended up getting some SR5 wheels from a buddy and decided to put on the BFG ATs. The truck is much better now w/ the new suspension and tires. The ride is stiffer but smoother. I have not had a chance to take it out on the trails but hopefully will have a report after this weekend.

Again, thank you to everyone especially BlknBlu, GunNut, Strap22, and 86Original for answering my questions and pm's.

personally, i think the stripes are kinda cool, gives it a diff look... "old-school awesome"

and with the amount of lift rob, i think he got bigger tires, if not rims too... so they fill the wheel well more, making lift look like not as much gap

Bob,

I agree about the stripes. I don't like them either. The truck is at an even stance now but I would like to be a little taller.

I am thinking about adding new schakles that would give an additional 1-1 1/2" lift. The Downey 3" springs intially gives you 3" but after settling and the weight of the camper shell it brings it to 2" lift only. That is why the truck ends up being leveled. Overall the lift is great. I am just looking for another inch or so.

Thanks for the compliments and comments.

Steve

Thanks guys for the comments! The lift helped when we went up to big bear. Overall for the cost it was worth it for me. I am adding the sliders on this weeke hopefully and figure that should help me get through a few more obstacles. Going to take it out on the trail and do a few more runs and see what will be next. Thinking rear locker will probably come after the sliders.

Will report back after going on run this weekend. In case anyone wants to know for future reference.

Thanks again guys!

Thumbs up

Don't lose the stripes. My buddy has a 79 Ford that would match perfect except his says "4by4" on it. the lift looks good. Nice truck
