3.4 Trans Options

I been searching and can't find just what I am looking for. Will a 3.4 hook up to an A34OH trans bellhousing without any mods. Thinking about putting this combo in my 88 4runner if possible. Thanks

I know of 2 people that have done it but as of yet neither one has been willing to do a write-up on how it's done. It appears the tricky part is wiring it up.

The tranny from a 3.0 will bolt up and work with extensive and expensive modification. Best bet is to just use the one of a 3.4.

Do you care to explain any of the modifications?

No, that's not what I meant by that post. I'd really like to know what's involved because I don't know.

Same here I was under the impression that it was a bolt up job. I am wondering what the difference is. is it an issue with the mounts or bell housing or flywheel etc.

That I know of, Team Shift Point(?) are the only ones that have claimed to use the 3.0 tranny...and they are very "hush" when it comes to what exactly needs to be done.

Yeah "Shift Point" is only trying to make a buck so he won't share any info. But "thefallman" has done it too and he may be willing share what he's done.
