3.4 swap interference

Between the steering shaft(rag joint) and the alternator is very little clearance.This is easily fixed.Take the entire steering shaft out.This will include the 2 shafts,2 u-joints, and the rag joint.Mark the shaft with a center punch in order to reinstall them correctly.Separate them at the center bolt(spline) flip both shaft assy's and put them back together.Reinstall the shaft.You may have to remove the steering column to gain enough clearance to spline it back up.Now the rag joint is up toward the firewall and out of the way of the alternator.Also I had to remove the hoist hook.BTW my truck has a 3 inch BL so your's may not have this problem.

Good info! I think that this is a good idea for just about anyone that has done the conversion. I'll take a look into doing this for mine.
