3.0L Head gasket recall still being honored?
I've read from time to time that some Toyota dealerships are still honoring the head gasket recall on the 3.0 from years ago. I'm wondering if any of the Kentucky members on here know of any dealerships that are still doing this? Thanks.

From my understanding there is no time limit or expiration on the V06 campaign. Just call your local dealer's service department and have them run the VIN and see which campaigns you are eligible for, but don't say whether or not you have any issues. I've heard that if you are covered by the V06 you can get your entire engine replaced if it's bad enough.

Stormin is right, is doesn't matter who owned it before you, it's a recall campaign, the vehicle is covered for one free HG replacement.

As far as ownership, it doesn't matter, it matters whether they will honor the work.
My truck had the work done, so I'm good but, I know two guys that work at separate Toyota dealerships, one in PA, one in NJ, and they will no longer do the headgasket work for free, doesn't matter who you are or what the deal is with your truck, they both said Toyota is no longer paying the Dealerships for this work.
Thats what you have to remember, the Dealership is an entirely different business, they "buy" vehicles from Toyota to sell to the public, as far as warranty work and recalls, they do the work and "bill" Toyota, not you.
Now, if Toyota refuses to pay, which they sometimes do, the Dealership does NOT get paid if they already did the work and told you it would be covered.
Thats why it does not pay to argue with ANY Dealership in this case, they aren't there to lose money, your best bet is to argue the point directly with Toyota and if they give in have them set up exactly what Dealership will do the work and when.
I had to go this route with a brand new Corolla that had major steering issues, the Dealership won't take your word for it that Toyota will pay up, Toyota needs to work it out with them AND you.
It can be very intense dealing with them but, in the end you may win out, I did.

Last night I called Toyota Canada (wow they are open until 11 pm!) and gave them my VIN. I was hoping I would qualify for the rust recall where they give you cash, repair etc.. No luck there. However, turns out its eligible for campaign 802 which is apparently the head gasket. My question is: My truck seems to be running decent, should I wait till it goes completely? Its a '95 Truck/Pick-up. I have been reading lots of threads and it seems like its better to wait cause they should fix everything that was damaged by the faulty gasket. I also read I should get the water-pump/ timing-belt replaced while its there to save on labour charges.

IF it's been done once already Toyota will not pay to do it again. Even if one of their dealers did it and it has Failed again.
If it's never been done, then yes, Toyota will still pay for it.
