3.0 timing

hey guys. so i have figured out almost all the issues i was having with my 3.0 after the hg replacement.

and now im trying to adjust my timing. is there a particular reason for jumping the diagnostic terminals during timing adjustment?

after using the timing light to adjust my dizzy for 10 btdc, my engine kept feeling like it was hesitating to accelerate smoothly. and it died on me a couple of times going down the road after letting off of the gas. i know it sounds like my idle needs adjustment, but it idles just fine...its just basically intermittent coming down from open throttle

You need to jump those terminals. It cuts all e.s.a (electronic spark advance) so that you can set base timing.
