3.0 surging idle

Moustache, THANK YOU a million for taking the time to give me some help. I am convinced that it has something to do with the TB and what you have shown me makes perfect sense. I will try to check for blockages as soon as weather permits. Right now it is miserable out.
If this turns out to be my problem, I will take a minute to post it here just in case it can help someone along the way from all the aggravation of what seems to me a VERY COMMON problem.
Thanks again Moustache for putting forth your effort to try and help someone else out.

Not a problem at all man, just trying to do my part.
Post up what you find when you pull the hoses off. I think you will be suprised at how small the coolant fittings are on the TB.

Oh and I forgot to mention, I had documented my issue over on another forum and it turns out one or two other members with the same symptoms had the same problem. Clogged coolant lines at the TB.
Maybe when you went off the road, and the snow was packing itself under the bumper, it pushed into your radiator. This could have caused corrosion flakes and particles to come loose and move throughout the coolant system until they make it to the smallest point. Your TB.
My issue started after rear ending someone and damaging my radiator. Maybe that's what happened to yours

Is it possible to do a by-pass on that water hose going through the throttle body? What would that do?
Random question, but the reason that permits the question is the same reason anyone would have for asking any question; just out of curiosity.

I'm not for sure on what 'position' that would leave the valve in and how much air that would allow to bypass the butterfly on the TB.
I ended up putting tape over the port to the IAC. Now I have a cold blooded engine only for a minute or so first start-up in the morning, but it idles exactly as it should any other time when it is warmed up.
Alot better than the up/down/up/down idle I had that drove me nuts. Motor starts and idles perfectly once it reaches operating temp and it's really not a big issue to get it started by any means when it's completely cold.

I need some help. I have a very similar problem. However, whenever my truck idles it's surges the same amount in rpm's at sometimes around 2000 RPMs and sometimes just above idle speed. It pulses up and down about 200 RPMs. I have taken the throttlebody out and there is nothing clogged. What could the problem be? A plastic coolant fitting also broke around the same time. Could it have just been low on coolant?

3.0 idle surging
1988 Toyota 4Runner 3vze v6 auto trans. When truck in park and idles good, when throttle up it surges up and down. When put in drive and accelerate I surges. Can’t even drive it.
no vacuum leaks seen. Good coolant. No blackage in coolant lines going through throttle body. Can’t figure it out? Any suggestions.
