just the front cover, and the 3.0 has a belt, not a chain

What he said. Just pull the radiator and all the pully driven devices to get to the cover. Absolutly no point in pulling the heads.

You can do it without pulling the radiator even. The only reason to pull the radiator is to give enough room to use an impact gun on the crankshaft pulley. If you don't have and impact gun, don't worry about the radiator.

There are several writeups on here with step-by-step instructions and what to look for. Search for "timing belt 3VZE"

Just a little gotcha to remeber, when i did mine this summer, there are four bolts holding the rear cover on behind the water inlet and pulley combo. Remember to use some thread locker on these four bolts. When they put mine back together after the headgasket recall they forgot and two of them unbolted themselves and destroyed the upper cover and the lower cover. Also put two nice sized holes in my timing belt which started to whine. The other two were on their way out as well. Just my 2 cents.

Good luck
