My 1992 4runner broke its crank, is that a problem or weak link on the 3.0 with an auto trans?? 160,000 miles on it.

I had to pull the motor with the converter still bolted up, I took the convertor loose after the motor was out. But the back of the crank spins free from the rest of the motor.

I have never seen a 3.0 break a crank, but have seen it on a landcruiser inline 6 that was rebuilt a year before. All bearings were ok, so I can only figure it had a stress crack??
