3.0 motor build

So heres what I'm told to make 200 hp and be reliable take a look tell me what you think if something is missing or wrong please let me know.

200 HP reliable is not a tough job to do , i use a MLS head gasket on this, And some nice head work, balance the rotating assy, stock rods peened,ARP rod bolts centerline G-5 pistons, and some nice head work with crower cams & spring set up-polish and port, estimate of about 2850.00

thats for a complete new long block no core

200HP from a 3.slow? Are we talking theoretical on paper HP or real world RWHP?

If someone's telling you that they can get you 200 RWHP from a 3.slow they are getting ready to rip you off. Yes, that's the lie I was fed too.

I have done nearly everything possible to a naturally aspirated 3.slow and get about 130 at the rear wheels, for reference stock is under 100. I've done everything you list and a lot more.
They don't call this 'polishing the turd' for nothing. My shiny turd runs real good and has a much wider powerband than a stock 3VZE, but a 3.4 would run circles around it and a supercharged 3.4 would deliver power that the 3.turd can't even dream of. A SC3.4 with the amount of work my 3.turd has had wouldn't even on the same category.

If you are going to spend money on your truck for performance, swap in the 3.4 first. I sure wish I had.

2800 for only 50hp. Definately not worth it. Why wouldnt you just do the 3.4 swap and upgrade it for that price?
