Take lots of photos with a digital camera of everything you disconnect. put all bolts back in their holes as you unbolt stuff so you dont lose or confuse them.

look at my signature i just did a complete rebuild im still not 100% done but it has alot of info on there. make sure you clean the surfaces REAL well make sure you loosen and tighten the head bolts in the correct order. yes there is a specific order to take them off in. take a bunch of pictures as you take things apart sometimes it helps to be able to look back on how things came apart! its not hard wont take long. timing sucks! that's how i feel! good luck it shouldn't be hard at all.. the gaskits have a specific top and bottom and a left and right so make sure you put them on in the right way!

Yes, make sure you study. I'd do the timing belt at the same time, but you'll need to deal with getting the crank pully off with the engine in the truck.

You will need to replace the head bolts as they are torq to yeild bolts! If you try to reuse them you might snap them or get the same problem as before. You will torq them in three stages the first to thirty lbs then for the second you need to mark the head bolts and put another mark at 90 degrees and turn in sequence the bolts to match the marks you made and the third stage another 90 degree turn for a total of 180 degree turn and you will have your heads tightened on properley!

Plastic bag's with stickies on the inside were a life saver for me. I put all nuts/bolts into them which made re-assembly easier. I also kept them all in a general order in which they were taken off.

Also, just keep track of the vacuum lines, and the fuel return line on the plenum. I usually cover the fuel line with a piece of plastic bag and a zip tie. That way it's unmistakable. And for the vacuum lines, there are usually numbers on them. Just keep track of where each number goes.
