~16mpg half hwy half local. 15mpg before i put on aisin hubs. 4x4 5spd, all new: tb, O2, cat, muffler, pipe, spark plugs, air filter, RedLine full syth fluid in diff, t-case, trans. fuel injector serviced professionally.

mpg is based on 31" tires, according to my gps, the actual speed matches the speedometer.

i drove a 2004 Dodge Ram1500 quadcab 4.7L 2wd before this 4Runner, it got 15mpg same driving pattern.

i have seemed to got my truck about dialed in.. usually right around 17.4-17.5. not too bad considering how much like an a hole i drive sometimes. ECT power, peel outs, faster than necessary acceleration.. if i baby it i can ALMOST squeeze 19 out of it. Did a trip a few weeks back, got 18.75, but i had almost 2 hours of engine idling on the tank, plus it was in the mountains of western PA, not too shabby....

yeah me.... 14-19. shes a 94 4x4 ext cab with a camper shell 32s. i often carry tools and and the higher avgs are unloaded. k&n, bosch plugs, mobil1... bout it so far... a friend of my ditched his rear seat and spare tire for about 2 more mpgs . i personally think its all in how you drive to get the best your truck can do in terms of fuel usage.....like if you know that red light in front of you is in fact red and you aint rolln through that bitch...get off the gas early, in the l.a. soup traffic... i try to maintain a constant speed while all the dumbasses ariound me are doin pedal dances tryn not to let anyone get into "their" lane...u know the one THEY lease monthly... i also try not to rev out from light to light and drive a little slower on da hwy and draft sometimes too.

But after replacing my o2 sensor, my 4Runner went from 14mpg to 20mpg (!)

And the throttle response is ALOT crisper.
Did you have any codes logged to indicate the o2 sensor was bad?
I bumped my timing up 2 fdegrees to 12btc, and it made the engine a little snappier, but I could see alot of gas usage.

I have a 92 4runner auto 3.0 V-6. I feel much better seeing I am about average with 15 in the city and about 20 on the highway. I did the air box mod and the IS Mod also. It's intake is louder but the low end power is greatly increased.
Mileage might have dropped a little but the extra torque is well worth it, especially if I'm towing.

Thats not bad for 35's. If you replace your O2 sensor, you might be getting close to 18...
