Blame Canada!
Shame on Canada!
For...
The smut we must stop
The trash we must bash
The Laughter and fun
Must all be undone
We must blame them and cause a fuss
Before somebody thinks of blaming uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuus!!!!

if you can find a 22r it would be well worth it for gas mileage and for a damn bulletproof engine. even when the head gasket goes all you have to do is keep the coolant level up! (as long as the crack in the gasket isnt awfully bad) and after you do it once dont expect to do it again.

I am down in Cape Coral/Ft Myers. Not much to use the 4x4 with... but there is at least some mud.
but I guess its just my luck, every time I look for a car, they suddenly dissapear. As soon as I get one, they are all over the place again.
So I'll just have to keep my eyes peeled and hopefully find something.

Well, Coors really isn't considered a beer, it's panther piss.
And as for your beer, since when did they start classifying female Bigfoot bodily secretions as beer?!!?

For the Original Poster:
My 3.0 finally gave up on me after 258,000 miles That was on its OEM toyota gaskets, been through a fire and driven like hell.
It had super low compression in 2 cylinders(60psi). (started running like absolute garbage, no power, had a bad miss)
The head gasket was not blown though, the internals of the engine looked good to me..
I didn't take the heads apart though.. It could have been a burnt valve or just bad valves adjustment..
As far as mpgs i got around 16-19 when it was stock the lower in the city the higher numbers on the highway.. ( i live in the mountains so this may not be accurate to where it would have been where you live..
I went to some bald 33's and managed to get 18mpg in the city.. Then i got some new 33's and it went down to 15.5-16 ish mpg.
and now im running 36"s and 5.29's and i managed to get 60-70 miles per quarter tank which would roughly be 15.5mpg..
It varied on how i drove it but that seemd to be what i normally got.

About the same time chamomile tea became America's favorite beer and Alaskan hockey mom became a serious candidate in a national election.

Im currently looking for my 3rd 3.0L 3VZE (if anyone knows of one for sale.... please lemme know). the first one i hydrolocked (my fault) but this last one apparently had a slow oil leak that i didnt catch/know about so it eventually ran dry on oil (the gauge was broken too) and cut out on me one day. put new oil in it and now a rods knocking loose and bent the crankshaft so.... im lookin for another since i dont have the funds for an upgrade

I like how people who don't even own 3vze's are commenting on their reliability.
Over 200,000 miles on my 3vze right now - headgasket recall was done at about 60,000 miles by the dealer (not because it blew though). 140,000 miles on the recalled head gasket to date and no issues....
Keep your cooling system in top shape and you're good to go.

There is a reason jeeps are cheaper. and thats only to buy. In the long run they are more expensive. I would say you would be better off with a 22R/RE motor, much more reliable and easier to work on. I have seen the 3.0 motors with a lot of miles though if taken care of.
