2WD Q's

Alright, so my brothers '92 2wd Pickup got in a fight with a mailbox and lost. The drivers side fender is mangled and he is now missing a rear view mirror. He's been toying with the idea of lifting it slightly and trying to fit 30"-31" tires. It looks like a 2" body lift, BJ spacers, SOA and extended shackles would possibly get him in that range but I'm not 100% sure. Maybe someone with a little more experience could chime in on this. Also, he's not looking to spend a mint since he's 17 and doesnt really make that much loot so LT is kind of out of the question.

On to the fender situation: Since one of them has to be replaced anyway, would fiberglass fenders be a cost-effective way of clearing these larger tires? I havent priced them and I'm kind of unfamiliar with the different kinds, how they mount etc.

Thanks for reading and feel free to give me your opinions.

i have a 2wd and am running 2'' 4crawler body lift, downey torsion bars and fabtec upper arms. in the rear i have downey HD shackles and the prerunner add-a-leafs. i dont have my torsions cranked very much as i still have 2"+ of the adjuster bolt left. i pounded the pinch weld flat and trimmed the rear of the inner fender liner. with this setup i am running 235/75-15 (=29''tire) and have no rubbing. i could go with a 30" and have no problems or with a little more torsion crank a 31 would fit too. but then i would need more lift in the rear to sit level. also with any bigger of a tire then i have now i think i would need to re-gear. it will get to highway speed but just not much past 70. hope this helps some.

Fiberglass is expensive....especially for someone who doesn't make much money.
