'91 4runner knocking

I'm giving an old, cherry 4runner new life! After rebuilding the motor, messing with fuel injectors and timing, (throttle position sensor still off) I replaced the cv boots. Test drove about 250 miles, now I have a knocking noise on the driver's side. Front differential is leaking oil everywhere. I need specs and suggestions, please! My Haynes manual doesn't have anything on the front differential, and alldata not much help either.

What did you end up doing with your diffs?

**Note: TruTrac is a limited slip, not a full locker. It is a full carrier design though, so it should work in your application.

Hi tc,

I assumed the risc of being wrong and supposed my stock LSD would be compatible to a V6 3rd and voilà, I was right. I've the same carrier as a V6 but LSD. So I had to choose a locker to replace the whole carrier and I choose a Detroit Soft Locker V6 style.

The install was cheap and it's nice how it works.

In front I've a standard 7.5'' diff so I put an Aussie Locker in it.

How do you find the locker in front? I'm putting a LSD in the front of mine.

The Aussie Locker is awesome, I'd put it again. In fact, a lot of Spanish forum mates are putting it too.
