I am just about to start doing ALOT of body work to my 4runner. I am planning on doing a complete write-up about what I plan on doing. I am wondering How I tell my factory paint code I currently have, and also what other ones are out there. I have seen some blue ones I like. Just not sure what codes I need for the body shops?

 

A dealer would know it probably from the VIN. If not there then I'm pretty sure it's one of the numbers in your door frame. I was buying some touch up paint the other day and all the wanted was my VIN.

 

Check the door sticker, you'll see C/TR and then 3 letter or numbers, a slash and 4 letters or numbers, the first three are the paint code and the next 4 are the trim code.

 

figure out the paint code.. Its 179 or 197.. Now i cant remember..Dammit.

the code is 8H8 as long as my memory is the same betwwen looking and typing this. It is a 92 paint code. I don't see a lot my colour around so it must have only been for a couple of years or only on the SR5 with the big tire package

 

ya i havent seen many runners like that at all... Mine is an SR5 with the big tire package..
