I got a new tank of gas, got 2 miles down the road and the Runner died. The battery light came on, but the battery is brand new. I checked the fueses and the EFI fuse blew. It uses a 15, so I stole one from the Dome light, tried to crank and it wouldn't turn over. That fuse blew too. I don't know what the deal is but I hope the fuel pump isn't gone.

Thoughts???

Check the wiring going to the fuel injectors. I have had problems with that wiring in the past.

 

Sounds like a short to me too. I had the same thing happen. I found that my O2 sensor's wiring came unclipped from the frame and burned up on the exhuast pipe. Something to check.

 

burnt out wire for the power windows made my truck stall.

 

I took it to an Auto-Electrician he is convinced its a bad computer. He's checked a lot of things, and I guess he's right. About how much do they run? Initial checks I've done are 150-200 bucks.
