2nd Gen 4Runner Rear Upper Shock Brackets

A few months ago MarcP had mentioned he found some brackets from a Jeep lift that would convert the upper shock mounting hardware from a "pin" mount to an "eye" mount. I think a few people here have fabbed some up something similar themselves. I was browsing the net and found these pre-fabbed and independent from a lift kit. They are made by Rubicon Express and can be found HERE.
They require that the diameter of the mounting hole be increased by about a millimeter, other than that they bolt right on with a 27mm socket. Now I have a heck of a lot more shock options.

The brackets

Mounted some Bilstien 5150's

I put mine on last night.....what a PITA. I always have trouble getting the rear shocks on the lower stem. I still need to tighten things down more. I will get some pics tonight.

That is an excellent idea. I learned first hand the other day about just how fun it is getting to that upper shock bolt on the passenger side. My only question/concern would be the limiting of travel. is this a factor?

FYI - a Flex Head Angled 3/8" ratchet with a 14mm deep well will fit between the frame rail and the body for those upper shock mounts. Of course, if you have a body lift, you have no issues getting to it. Sorry for the basic info.

Yup, you loose about 1" in compression (upward travel).

So if you put these on with only 1.5" of lift in the back would it be best to just run stock length and travel shocks or extended?
