2nd Gen 4runner OME lift

I have the saggy bottom on my 4runner and was planning on gettting the OME 2" coils and rear shocks. With this will I need the panhard bracket? I have no other suspension mods and i am only doing this to level it out. I will see if i have to crank the torsion bars after i install the lift coils in the back.

Again, will i have to get the panhard drop bracket?

you don't _need_ to, but I did. i figured since i would have the springs out it would be a much better opportunity to do it, rather than to not do it only to later find out that i should have, then attempt the near impossible with the springs in.

I'd also strongly recommend doing the BJ spacers and lowering the T-bars a bit, from a purely aesthetic stand point. I felt I had way too much rake with just the rear coils, but that's just me.

more than what your thinkin

remember that the 2" lift is over stock... so if your saggin say 1" like mine was then you are really getting a 3" lift after settling.... it'll be around 3.5 I would say to start with .... and I agree with the bj spacers , you wont even it out with just the torsion bars. I would get the panhard drop, just to keep it all in line, I personally didnt like the way my drive shaft got way closer to my gas tank without it.... and that was just sitting in my driveway, not articulating as far as possible. but those are just my personal observations from when I did my lift

Where can you purchace the panhard bracket?

I'm in the same boat and was hoping I could have it installed the same time the OME kit is being put on. Is it a bolt on set up or weld?

why would you want to get 2" lift coils. Those provide 2" of suspension lift OVER the level ride.
Just get the Napa rvariable rate replacement coils and call it done. Those will level the rear perfectly.

Getting the 2" OME coils will not only require the panhard bracket, but also longer shocks (else you're existing shocks will be too short to really use all of extra flex that 2" lift coils can supply) and, if you crank your front t-bars you're really going to get some harsher ride from it.

I'm pretty constantly amazed at how it seems like everyone here thinks that lift coils (2" coils, 4" coils whatever) provide that much lift from where the vehicle sits in a sagged state.
That's not true. They provide 2" of lift from the stock, level state.

but didn't the 4runner sag a little from the factory raked front to back to begin with? why are the 1.5" coils that all pro off road makes called leveling springs if thats not what they do? does anyone use the all pro springs?

I know i would have to get shocks and i was planning on getting the OME or bilsteins.

the biggest reason i am doing this is because i am tired of basically hitting the bumpstops or coming within 1/2" of them when i am sitting on the back with a friend or set my granpas ski boat on the hitch or when i hit a small pot hole in the road. Then it just jars you becuase it slams the bumpstop. I also do some light wheeling and i would like the ground clearance and travel the longer coils would give me.

I did the 2" OME coils and BJ spacers, then I relaxed the the TB to give the same travel up & down. I didn't do a panhard bar & have no problems. The ride is very nice. Be sure to get an alignment after the BJ spacers. You will need longer shocks front & back. I tried to still use my stock shocks since they were new but it didn't work - I blew them apart. Do a search on my name. I did a good article on the theory on the TB travel. There is also a thread with the part numbers for the Monroe shocks that are really afordable compared to the ones that come with the OME kit.

oh by the way.cranking the bars is not a problem with an impact wrench.took about 10 minutes.just don't forget when you are doing one side the other will raise a bit so dont go too far or youll have to let it back down.i spent more time measuring than i did cranking.good luck

wow thats nice. Thats the way i want mine to be. I have 31/10.50 too and i don't want to go bigger yet, (brand new tires) but i want the ground clearance and travel. what shocks did you use?

ome all the way around.removed rear sway bar also.broke one of the bolts off in the rear for it.can't really tell much difference in the way it drives.i may change to ome heavy torsion bars later.i have one weak side, had to crank it all the way to get the lift.i just cant get past the notion of having to trim the upper control arms to add the BJ spacers.it may be fine but somethin about that just dont sit to well with me.the ride is a little firm in town but on the hwy its great.i am very satisfied with it.
