2nd gen 4Runner bumpers

Could a 2nd gen 4Runner bumper fit a 3rd gen 4Runner? Trying to sell my bumper / truck and wondering if I'm targeting the right vehicles.

check out the website of whoever made your bumper and see if they show two different part numbers.
Two different generations with two different body lines I am thinking that they won't swap with out some work on the mounts etc

1994 4Runner Third Gen bumpers look similar but there are differences. I have a 96 bumper on my 94 and the differences are mounting points. The 94 under carriage mounts are a full 5 inches higher than the 3rd gen and they are spaced 1 1/2 inches closer front to back. The 96 front end bolts to the rear fender well opening, the 94 bolts to the wheel well body flange. The 94 is 1/4 inch less tall and the 3rd gens rear gate lifts up requiring more clearance than the 2nd gen which folds down. The shape also differs slightly where the bumper meets the rear wheel well (that was to accommodate the factory flare package). Unless they plan on doing some fabrication 2nd gen bumpers for only 2nd gen 4Runners. You may have noticed my 94 has the swing arm from a 92 and roll bar from an 88, both required fabrication as well.

Hmm, I think this bumper could fit a third gen then! The two problem areas would be the mounting brackets are welded to the bumper, so they would need to be removed, and the leading edge of the side panels might not mesh cleanly with a fender flare. The only attachment points are to the frame. The swingout is a big portion of the vertical bumper, and I'm sure the lift gate would clear the bumper if the swing out was open.

Thanks for the info!
