and things seem clear to me except for the oil and water pump removal. Do the have to be removed? or can I leave them alone?
Just an FYI: The factory service manual section on timing includes a diagram of which bolts to undo so that you can pull the water and oil pumps of while leaving them attached to the timing chain cover.
