22re Throttle stuck?

Hello gang,

Ive an 85 22re with a throttle that is stuck open, probally like 3/4 open. As soon as I start the truck it wraps out to about 4.5-5 grand, It happened while we where out wheeling yesterday, I was driving at WOT and when I need to start slowing down, I realized it was stuck open. Early in the day I started having other electrical issues, maybe like the altenator wasnt charging? It would barly start the truck even after a long drive. I have been expencing somewhat rough idle/ misses in the last week or so. I dont know if any of that is related or not, but thought I would add it just in case.

The cable and peddal in the truck doesnt seem to be the problem, the cable under the hood looks like its closing all the way, I pulled off the intake tubing and it looks and feels like the butterfly in the throttle body is closed all the way. So im resonalby sure it doesnt have anything to do with any of that.

Im thinking its got to be vaccum, or electirical related, what do you guys think? From what Ive been reading it seems the dashpot is an item I need to look at, but if the butterfly is closed all the way would the dash pot still be effecting it?

What about the throttle positioning sensor?

Im open to any suggestions, any good reading, write ups ect. Ive searched on here, pirate, 4x4wire, and Roger browns site, still not finding any thing quite matching my problem.

If any one is needs me to clarify anything just ask.

It has to be vac related.. Throwing fuel into a motor that doesn't have any air won't make it rev.. are you 100% sure that butterfly is closed all the way?

Yes Im sure, Ive pushed it in the shut direction and it wont close any more. The Dashpot doesnt seem to be causing in trouble, the butterfly is closing the same distance with or with out it. I cant find any cracked vac. lines or any thing like that either. Currently im tring to figure out all the vac line diagrams in my chiltons so I at least know where to start looking.

Could try pulling them off the upper and plugging them. Add 'em back one at a time.

Well I got it fixed. The computer was throwing two codes, 7 & 11 I believe, which both pointed to the TPS.
I pulled the throttle body off cleaned it up good, adjusted the TPS, and replaced all the vaccum lines coming off the TB. I dont know what fixed it exactly but it is better now.
Just thought Id post for future searchers.
