22re stumble/jerk under acceleration
Hey there everybody, I really hope you can help me out on this one! So for the past month or so my car (95 4Runner 2.4L 4x4) has been doing this thing where it jerks/stumbles (not really sure how to describe it) under halfway to hard acceleration. Typically does this when I'm getting on the freeway hence the hard acceleration. It's the worst in 3rd gear, although it can also happen in 4th and 5th. Other than that, the car runs perfectly fine. After about 20 minutes or so of driving, the car doesn't jerk anymore. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? I believe the engine is misfiring, but I haven't been around cars enough to know for sure. Please drop some suggestions, I'd love to talk and figure this out! Have yet to find a thread that discusses the exact symptoms I'm experiencing!
Basic Info on the Runner,
219000 miles
never been rebuilt
ignition stuff like distributor cap and rotor, wires and plugs have all been replaced
replaced many little odds and ends, but should be unrelated to the engine (steering box, clutch, suspension, radiator)
Thank you all!!
