triple check your vacuum lines. then check them again.

This was an issue for me last time I failed.

Google for a vacuum diagram and then match them up

How do you suggest checking the lines? I heard spraying throttle body cleaner on the lines when the truck is running is a good way. Any other suggestions?

Yes that's a good way to find leaks

But make sure they are also attached correctly....that was my error

So this weekend I'm gonna do a valve adjustment, replace the o2 sensor, new valve cover gasket, spark plugs, rotors, wires, dist, run a compression test, replace pcv valve and grommet, and check my vacuum lines for leaks and trace them to make sure they are all hooked up correctly. Gonna be a busy weekend, any other things to do while I'm at it

Decided against replacing my rotor, dist and wires as they look almost new. Replaced the plugs and pcv valve/gromet. Also did my valve adjustment and put on a new valve gasket set. I've got my denso oe identical o2 sensor on order and it will be here Tuesday. Hopefully next weekend I can go to the hobby shop and use their tools to test the pair and evap system and do my compression test.

You need to test those ignition wires with an Ohm meter, should be under 25 Ohms. Visual inspection just isn't enough. Also on the distributor cap if it's not copper, aluminium oxide is clear and so it's hard to see.
