AND when your trying to build up your motor, lightening your flywheel shouldnt be at the top of the list.

I love the truck though, it will look great with new tires. You need to get a tire mount for the bed and lose the tailgate
keep in mind here, that although it might not be "race truck material", if he his thinking of competing with this truck he will have certain guidelines based on the class he might want to run which will most likely leave the engine swap option out of the question.

Your truck would be a bit of a paradox if you did that- you've got lift, yet you are going to kill low end grunt. I was looking hard at a weigh-added flywheel for my22RE, but instead bought a diesel Landcruiser. Diesels have very heavy flywheels, and lots of grunt. Much nicer engine off road.

I cant really see this beneficial at all in a 22r/re...
Ive seen it done in 2 stroke dirtbikes, but thats only because you can snap those from 1 grand to around 5 in a matter of seconds.
And it's only beneficial at higher RPM.
So, unless your truck is going to be snapping from idle to extremely high speeds, dont do it.

Thanks fer all the input guys, for now this truck is my daily driver an i think ill just keep it stock, and possibly do an engine swap later. Im on somewhat small budget and im trying to plan maybe a little too far ahead. its prob never going to be a race truck any time soon as there not really any races held around here for trucks of this sort but later ide like to get something along the lines of a Total Chaos Gen III caddy kit along with some fox 2.0s all around with a 4link in the rear (Just somethin to take out to the dunes or go jumpin with!) with a full cage ofcourse.... im a fan of trophy trucks and rally cars i just cant afford a full blown race machine at the moment

It only has a 1.5" BJ spacer lift in the front and shackles in the rear to make the truck have a better stance it looks like its lifted more than it is cause the fenders instead of having 32" spacing for the tires they have 35"!

i think i would pass on the flywheel shaving at this point, but you could build the engine up with short stack headers, much larger cam, and do an efi delete with a mikuni 44 carb. sounds stupid, but its fast.
