22re pistons

Is there anyway to know what order piston shoud go in or does it matter?

Fsm says it don't matter as long as you put them back in the hole they came out of with the notch facing foward

You don't say if you are installing new pistons or reusing old ones. All 4 pistons are exactly the same, so if installing new ones, just make sure the notch faces toward the front of the engine. If reusing old ones, put them in the same bores they came out of. The connecting rod end caps are numbered, make sure to put those in order, with the point facing the front of the engine as well. Also be sure to put the rings in correctly, with the gaps not lined up.
