22RE Mystery engine trouble!!

My truck has been running perfect ever since I bought it a year ago. But recently it is giving me some trouble. While drivivng it last week it suddenly died and i pulled off the road. When I tried to start it up it would idle very rough and it would die when I push the gas pedal. After about 10 times of re-cranking, it ran fine and I drove it home. Well I drove it around for over a week with no problems, but today it did it again. I cant seem to figure out what is doing it. Today, it wouldn't crank a few of the tries and when it did it would idle very rough. Then all the sudden it cranks up normally again and I drive it home. Only this time i'm not going anywhere until I figure out whats going on. Any ideas? Thanks.

I replaced the pump, among many other things, when I bought the truck, but i didnt flush the tank out.

This is what I had done when I bought it:

Timing chain kit
Head gasket
Water pump
alternator
battery
plugs and wires
distributer cap
Fuel pump and filter
Radiator
Throttle position sensor

Also check circuit opening relay (fuel pump relay) and main EFI relay AFTER the engine starts acting up. Both relays become intermittent before completely crapping out.

i had the afm sort of do the same thing on my truck. all of a sudden driving down the road the motor would just fall on its face, then pick up again. check your connections at the afm. clean them up some if they look a little gross.
