22re High Idle

22re High Idle
So having fixed my first and most major issue. I am on to my next one. My truck starts up and idles great. However after driving when I put the truck in neutral to stop my RPMs will pin at 1500 to 2000. If I rev the engine past 3k to 4k it will come back down. Any help with anyone who has come across this issue in the past is much appreciated. Thank you.

So I adjusted the idle screw inwards and dropped my idle to about 750. Then got in the truck and drove around. Felt good at first but then it bogged down to about 400-500 when I gently came to a stop. When going into neutral while still carrying some speed I would idle around 1k-1500. So I'm thinking it is something else.

If not your idle screw, then you must look else where. I would make sure your IACV (Idle Air Control Valve) is not cloged up and working well.
By the way, what engine are we dealing with?

I had the same issue a couple months ago. I took apart the intake and just cleaned the hell out of the throttle body with some good ol' Berrymans. Made sure to get all moving parts on the outside of it sprayed down with some penatrating lubricant just to make sure there wasn't any mud/sand stuck in there restricting anything. After that, never another problem.

No I didn't. My TPS is outside of the body. I've got the 3VZ-E engine. If you can, I'd remove it given that the problem is most likely your IAC (Idle Air Control) Valve.

Well I did of course. The FSM has all the information needed to adjust it or there is a great write up on 4crawler as well:
