Sure. You need to move a few exhaust studs around, but beyond that they're almost identical.

Some people say that the volume of the turbo heads is slightly more than the N/A heads (lowering compression), but I've never seen any proof of it. I've had both side by side, and they look the same to me.

I might be wrong, but doesn't the turbo head have provisions for the oiling system for the turbo itself? or is that just the block itself?

The oiling for the turbo is all in the block. In fact, it exists in non-turbo blocks as well it's just not drilled and tapped.

For what it's worth, I currently have a turbo head on my non-turbo motor.

Hey thanks for the info that's exacly what I needed to hear, I have a friend with a rebuilt head I can get for cheap. I figured I would just put a new one on along with water pump, timing chain, chain guides and along with all the other gaskets since I blew my HG

Thank you guys for all the quick responses, I am new to the whole forum and yotatech thing, but u guys rock!! This will be my first attempt at taking apart an engine so I'm a little apprehensive, I'm more of a gear head. I have looked through all the 22re HG swaps on hear is there anything special or different between the 22ret and 22re that I need to know about. Any info would be helpful and thanks again.

I don't have A CLUE what you're attempting to accomplish, but here ya go.

Favorite this link so you can look at it w/o having to start another thread in the future.

IF, you've got a RE you'll be lowering its C/R... IF, you're putting a RE head on a RTE block you'll be bumping it up.

Both heads are the same ex one had a bigger bit mill the combustion chamber out.

Same valve sizes and angles exhaust chambers and all.
