22re engine swap

91 22re 4wd 5spd

so i've got everything disconnected, ready to pull,
something happened that hasn't yet.

i'm only about an inch out the trans, and completely hung up.

i've done this before with no problem.
granted, i haven't done it 20 times, but i have pulled motor and trans before on these trucks,
so i'm not new to it...

pry-bar---no luck...
i'm just past the flywheel teeth.

can anyone offer me some advice?

sometimes the tranny and motor can get into a bind, try jacking up the tranny a lil to take some of the pressure off.

also, make sure your clearing everything with the motor!

i know huh...
i got em lined up,
the trans has a jack on it,
i've gone to each extreme in height
to alleviate pressure, lined up the whole time,
man just no luck, i've even re-mated them and tried to pull
em apart again, then i just tried to strangle the thing........ i'm about to buy the truck a drink!
see if that works....

honestly, it would be easier to drop the trans. I tried to get my engine out with the trans in, was 100 times easier with it dropped.

right on guys, i just popped it out.
put a block of wood on one side of the trans
and a prybar on the other. it was stuck pretty bad.
did the valves and clutch as well on the new block.
slippin it in tomorrow. i would have dropped the trans,
but i am attacking this swap alone, with no time at all...
thanks for the advice everyone, i'll keep ya updated.
a rebuild is in the works for the old block
and that will go in my 71 hilux!

happy trails!
