you probably already tried it.get a broom handle or a stethoscope to find out where the noise is coming from.that might help out finding problem.mine sounded like this but it was a bearing on one of the pulleys.cant remember which one.im sure Chef is gonna figure it out.

Never had an alternator bearing fail... Only the brushes, etc... Hmmmmm, I HAVE heard of AC idler pulley's going bad too.... Just guessing at this point, ya know? Til Gerlyne stops back in.........

This could help someone, Gerlyne.... fill us in on whatever, if anything, you've found, ok? ........JUNE 6th, last entry???? Give us the scoop! lol.

holy hell
That sounds metal vs metal. I have r & r'ed hundreds of 22r and 22re's and I have never heard that sound. If you haven't figured it out by tomorrow I'll show that vid to my friend who builds these motors and see what he thinks.

Yeah... I just listened again...

Wabbit, Spearo, many others have more experience than me.. But I've built a few motors, several... Just not as many 22RE's............. But Honestly? >>>

First thing I hear is what sounds like ROCKERS ARE KNOCKING on that Vcover... Especially when he got near the back... REALLY seemed like too much clatter, even for a 22REEEEEEK! lol.

Secondly... I just noticed that it LOOKS like a port is open on the 3-Port Vacuum Filter(FPR/Cruise, etc., that one)... AND I STILL say that sound is deceiving on a video/audio, man...It sounds PRETTY CLEAR, ... don't get me wrong.. But while it does sound like metal on metal.... Have you guys ever reversed the vacuum lines on one of those VSV's? HOLY CRAPULA! haha... I jumped out of the cab one time after reassembling the 2nd or 3rd build, lol.... Cuz THAT THING WAS SCREAMING! It sounded like the water pump or something was about to explode! The sound is caused by a BAD vibration warning thingy in the filter basket on the end... I even found it in the book, had no clue it could do that/did that to warn ya it's wrong/ until a buddy of mine said, "Woe... flip those hoses"... VOILA!

I only mention it AGAIN because it REALLY DID NOT sound ONE IOTA like what it REALLY was(The VSV warning thing).... Just like, when your Squealers warn you on the disc brakes, ya know? "WTH IS THAT? PULL OVER, QUICK!" hahaha... Pads weren't even that bad, and only did it for a couple/few miles.. but WOW, scary loud!

Not a huge deal, but I'm just REALLY curious now, ya know? hahaha...

sup spearo?
