22re awful noise

22re awful noise
I have a 1993 Toyota pickup with a 22re and I bout it not know it had what I thought was a blown head gasket because I had alot of pressure on the cooling system and lots of oil in the radiator overflow sooo my reaction..
Head gasket
Water pump
Flush coolant
Plugs
Distributor cap and rotor
Fuel filter
Plugs and wire
And I thought I was good to go, I adjusted the valves and changed the oil and filter and drove it for two days maybe 250 miles and it ran perfect then on the third day it started making an awful noise, it's in the top of the motor almost like there is no oil pressure and the timing chain has excessive slack causing all valves to rattle ( if that's possible) that's just my defenition of the sound.
So I dropped the oil pan and replaced the pickup tube because the old one seemed to be stopped up but once I got it all back together the noise still occurs, but it only does it when it warms up, when I start the engine cold it sounds great but as it gets to operating temp the noise come back, if I rev the engine it seems to get a little better but it still doesn't sound like it should. I don't know where to look now and I have no oil pressure gauge to test my noise theory,
Soo any ideas?

Did you do the valve adjustment HOT, or just cold? It needs to be done twice, initially cold and again after everything is together and the engine warmed up.
Have you inspected the timing chain guides? Inspected the timing cover for wear? Retorqued the head? Over tightened the valve cover, or didn't replace the grommets?
When you first turn the ignition to ON the oil light should come on as a bulb check feature. Assuming the oil lamp works and it's not on you have acceptable pressure.
An oil pressure guage is relatively cheap, and for not too much more you can put in an SR5 gauge cluster and get a tach also. (There are plenty of threads detailing this swap, but I'll remind you anyway.. You have to swap out the oil pressure switch for an oil pressure sending unit.)
