22r-series - changing valve spring w/head on
Anyone swapped out valve springs with the head on? I've done it on Z-cars before, but haven't tried it on a toyota.
I've got a leak down tester for pressurizing the cylinder and I believe the rockers can be moved to the side off the valve...
The tool I've used before looks something like this - basically it's a pry bar that hooks to the camshaft:

Looking for advice on if it's possible and what tool to use... I'm doing a cam, spring, rocker change. Because I have an MLS head gasket, I don't have to worry about screwing up the HG when pulling the cam.
If I don't have to pull the head off, it's a 1 hour job vs something taking significantly longer...

I have done this before , you have to have rocker arm stands to put on and tighten down so the air pressure wont leak past the HG. So either get another set of old rockers and get the stands from them or use what you have.
