Just purchased first Toyota pickup. Wondering about carb options. What are they/how do they compare in 'bang for buck'? Thanks

I actually have a weber 38 on my 22r. It makes a ton more power and it runs great when dialed in, but i have had absolute hell with it. The two piece adapter is a great example of what an engineer with down syndrome can do; It is so prone to extreme vacuum leaks I cant believe it works at all. If I had it to do over again, i would definitely go with a holley carb. If I was going to get a new manifold also, I would get one for a 4 barrel and use the 390cfm. Or, there is also a 2 barrel 350 cfm that can be used on the stock manifold.. not sure about options for an adapter in that case but I would probably make one.

 

Got it. I've seen weber and holley kits. Not sure where the best place to get them is though. I read somewhere the redline weber kit allows stock air cleaner, but no mention in product descriptions.

So you have both as a viable option. I think the holley is just better any way you look at it.. but the choice is yours.. let us know how it ends up!
