86 with a 20R? You sure it's not a 22R? Unless it was swapped in, that shouldn't be.
The Holley 2 barrel is a knock off of the Weber 2 barrel. Weber sold them the rights to produce a version, and form everything I've heard they work very well. Not quite as easy to tune as a weber, but still head and shoulders above the stock Aisin

SHOULD be a RE but the post says its has a 20r swapped in. In my opinion, if your taking a loan out, get a rebuilt longblock or rebuild yours and put a weber conversion on it. A properly maintained yota will last as long as you want it. I have the Weber conversion and I love it, much easier to tune, and MUCH MUCH less complicated.

It could be either a 22R or 22RE. I wouldn't think it would have a 20R. Those were the motors that were available in the early 80's trucks. The 22R was still available until around 1990 I believe although the EFI is more popular.
A long block is pretty expensive. I was pricing them out a while back and they seem to run about $1600 without installation and that's not a factory motor. It may be worth it of you're rebuilding the truck but if you're looking to only get a couple of years out of it until you can afford a newer one then you might want to consider looking at other older Yotas that have good rinning motors that you can use for parts.
Start looking at your fuses for the short.
Good luck.
