The black top red line is 9000 rpm and it can happily stay there all day. I think factory silver top is about 8000-8500 rpm but don't remember.

To compare, find an 8-valve long stroke motor.... Not fair to compare with a more modern multi valve/cam motor...

Ask for a dyno run out of that shop, but don't discount the HP added by green paint.

91toyota I wouldn't even chance it with this guy, I have seen I don't know how many people on craigslist fighting with this guy because they had problems with his motors and some said that when they tore them down to find the problem the motor hadn't even been rebuilt just cleaned up and put back together. If it had only been one person I would say maybe his motors our ok, but it has been quite a few different people complaining.

Thanks! I'm actually rebuilding mine myself anyway...just wanted to look at all my options...and if it WAS true...that would be quite impressive!

Not very likely

It's conceivable to get that power from one of these engines but your talking some serious port work and pretty high compression. As well as rpm in the 7000-7500 range. I'm thinking it would cost a lot more than they are selling them for.

Besides the engine, the engine management system would have to be upgraded

Maybe they figure the pretty paint increases volumetric efficiency

well we all know that green paint, due to the shorter wavelength of the light reflected by it, produces less obstruction and turbulence to air passing around it than what is caused by orange, or even worse- red paint. That's why Ford uses blue- even shorter wavelength than green. The fastest engines don't use purple or indigo though, even though purple and indigo are even shorter wavelengths than blue... black is the preferred color for the fastest engines since black means there is no light reflected and consequently no turbulence and therefore produce the most power.

I'm going to paint my engine red and take off my hood. Then when I'm going down the highway and the engine turns blue I know I'm going too fast.

Hey!... Go easy on the orange, I can tell you for certain Orange is rather fast.

It's like those Turbonator/Tornado thingies (technical terms) More turbulence=fast,,,,,REAL FAST

imo if you push a 20r 22r or 22re that hard, its not gonna last as long or beas reliable as your stock motor
