2 PCV's on 22RE?

I've been getting confused as to whick one is the PCV hose. Here's a pic of my 22RE, is it the one closest to the oil filler cap in pic1 or the one towards the back by the red connector pic2?
1)2)
I'm going to try seafoaming in the near future and don't want to dump it down the wrong one and I will also replace it if it doesn't rattle.

oh my lord.. is that a heat shield over the engine? mine doesnt have one, but it has the bolt for it and the bolt hole for it. lol. seafoam and maybe some engine degreaser or brake cleaner on that.. make it look nice and shiny. wait, scratch engine degreaser. it takes the powdercoat off the metal. on mine, its the one right after the heat shield. not sure bout yours.

Thanks guys. When the back one comes off there is a metal tube that sticks up about 1"....should that come up with the hose or is that protruding tube the PCV?

That's the PCV valve. Good luck with the rubber grommet It's a nightmare if it is hard from engine heat

oh god, i hate that PCV. got a tip for ya. soak that new grommet in brake fluid for about 10 minutes. then put it in. will be hard to put in, but it will be super hard to crack and probably will never leak either.

pcv removal

The PCV the one at the back. Anyone know what the front one is? I'll look it up in the manual later.

Don't even bother trying to reuse the old gromet. It so hard it will chip. I cut away everything I could the set the remainig portion and old pvc alight with degreaser. Let it burn for a bit until its softened it up. Then pull it out with pliers. Won't come yet? More degreaser and cook it longer. The piece that fall into the valve cover can easily be fish out from the ledge right underneath the vslve.

A new pcv valve costs less than $5 I think from Lordco and the gromet was $2. I bet you could reuse the old pcv if you soaked it in solvent.

Yea grommets can be hard, I had to take the valve cover off of mine and dig it out from the bottom in order to get mine changed. If your just sefoaming, put it down the back hose.

I suggest seafoaming from the brake booster line. A few people have gone in through the PCV and have had some mediocre results. I haven't heard anything negative about the brake booster line.

Access to my PCV is obstructed by panel thats rivetted into the valve cover, o I wasn't able to access it from below.

On my 3vze I like to use it on the vacuum tube were it has been block, will not use the brake booster to suk those seaform stuff, cause it will only go to the three cyclinder.

That tube next to the oil cap is the PCV return. The whole purpose to the PCV is to continuously burn the oil saturated air so that it doesn't pollute. It took me a while to find out what it was. My return hose was spewing oil so I replaced my PCV. The grommet was hard so it was awful to replace, so good luck.
