I don't know what you would call these things, but I'm referring to the black plastic grilles that are just behind the doors on the 1st gen 4Runners. The assembly hardware on mine apparently came loose and fell off when a friend exited my rear seat. Fortunately, the tabs on the back of the piece are in good shape. Does anyone have any ideas as to what it is I need to buy to reassemble and where I could find them?

Ask in the Yotatech marketplace. Someone might have some or is parting out a 4runner.

 

I assume you are talking about the black plastic grills on the outside behind the front doors. The dealership has the fasteners. Take the grill piece with you so you don't have to explain to them what you are talking about.
