1st/2nd gen 4runner driveshafts?

Are 1st and 2nd gen 4runner driveshafts the same length and setup?

I'm looking for a new driveshaft.

Will the rear driveshaft from a 93 4runner with a R150F fit in my 89 4runner w/ the w56?

My chevy's springs disengaged my driveshaft about 3/4" from where it sat stock.

I recently swapped the identical driveshaft to mine from a friends truck and my truck reved much higher easier and drove much better w/ less vibrations so there's something wrong.

I'm not sure if I did something to my dshaft. A few years ago my drive shaft pulled apart while I had it off and I had to guess the orientation. I also replaced my ujoints at some point and might have put it out of phase.

I saw the diagram in the FSM about lining up the ujoint grease nipples to make sure it went back together right, but I saw it too late and now have aftermarket ujoints and can't tell. Anything I can check on my driveshaft? Just swap phase of one of the flanges and see if it makes a difference?

I also find I throw a lot of grease. Only a week or so of light driving and I'm feeling driveline slack when letting off the pedal or starting.

I was figuring $30 to buy a used working driveshaft will be cheaper then any time spent at a shop and probably much easier then taking my ujoint apart and then back together.

thanks

I've used 2nd gen 4runner 22re/w56 rear driveshaft in my first gen 4runner 22re/w56. The second gen driveshaft was a little longer, but worked just fine. Not sure if this info helps, but good luck.

the yokes take the same ujoints but the 2nd gens have longer yokes and allow for more dshaft angle
