Yeah engine swapping is quite popular around Yotatech since the lawnmower engine (3.slow) in our trucks just don't cut it. After being bored and searching random forums, i spotted a 2nd-gen that i will never forget about, and this is the first concept I've seen that has truly BLEW MY MIND

Awesome swap. Although, using a 2nd gen 4runner (lifted 4") as a rally car seems a little sketchy to me.

 

That's pretty sick. His intercooler isn't doing jack with that big dang skid plate in front of it though...

 

it's good that you're excited about this swap, but there are several people that have swapped in the 2JZ and 5/7M engines in the 4Runner/trucks. They are good choices for everyday use or mud, but not the best choice for crawling. Guess it depends on what you are building your rig for.
