1995 HILUX 22RE DESTRUCTION (sad)
#21
it may be a toyota, but it is still a machine with a limited life span. The more you abuse it, the shorter its lifespan.
If you dunk it, you ALWAYS change ALLLLL fluids! ALL OF THEM! Coolant, powersteering fluid, oil, tranny fluid, differential fluid, etc....
As much as I hate to be a dick like this, but your Uncle is rolling in his grave. I know I'd be if someone did that to my truck... However if it got rebuilt I think he'd be happy again, particularly if you learned from the mistake...
Good luck

its a shame, but hey stuff happens. good luck with that new motor. now a question for anyone who reads this. i have a 88 yoda with a 22RE that just hit 250,000 miles. for the past 75,000 miles (since ive owned it), i have kept up with the oil changes, tune ups, flushes, etc. whats the life expectancy of these engines? it seems to be running strong as ever, but i dunno. im just glad i didnt give it a few gulps of river water
no rivers that i know of out here in ole lost wages.

so did you check the other fluids? tranny, transfer case, diffs to make sure they didn't get drowned too?
