The window works with the key up and down no problem and it goes up with the switch. Switch worked going down last week now won't work anyone have any ideas what is going on?

switch or wiring?

 

not sure if its the same as my 86, but I a similiar issue. Switch up front worked, rear lock would go up but not down. I ended up reversing the wires, so it will go down, but not up. Havent tracked down a new lock set yet.

there is a relay in the drivers side panel, between drivers seat & back seat.

You can pull the wire harness apart, and I beleive down is Blue with black (please verify this in the manuel before trying), if you ground this out, it should make the window go down.

If this works, then it means the wire from your rear window lock, to the relay is bad, or your rear lock is bad.

To further diagnose, pull the back panel off the tailgate, find the same wire inside the tailgate, and ground it out there, see if it still works, if it does, replace the lock cylinder. If it dont, replace the wire from the tail gate to the relay.
