1994 4runner auto trans
I finally got my bad transmission out, talk about fun. Now that it's out is there anything I should replace while it's out? I was thinking the rear main seal and maybe the starter, as it looks like a pain in the ass to change. I was also thinking of wrapping the cross over pipe as I have read it can lead to over heating and a head gasket failure. I think that's all for now, thanks again for all the help.
I'm also going to try to rebuild my transmission, it's a a340h, do you guys think this is a good kit?

Wrapping the crossover won't solve the overheating issue. The problem is how the crossover adjoins the driver side exhaust manifold. The heat builds up at the joint on the respective cylinders (#4 and #6) and where the head and block join. The only real solution there is to fabricate another pass side exhaust tube that joins the driver side further down from the motor. Search the y-pipe mod.
Couldn't tell you anything about the kit or rebuilding, though. Good luck.
