1993 pick up antenna replacement

Ok I've seen many posts on this matter with no clear answer or solution. I have a 93 pick up with a manual atenna which I can not seem to remove.

It seems so basic but I am unable to remove it? Any clear write ups on this? The top nut does not unscrew, it seems like it's one piece all the way down to the bracket underneath that mounted to the wheel wall underneath the fender.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks all

The antenna mast should unscrew from the base and the not at the base needs to be removed if you want to remove it from the fender. Often that's just not possible as it's made of pot metal and it's corroded. At this point, you probably need to look for a new antenna id you really need to remove it.

I did a quick Google search for replacements,

Years ago, I did replace the power antenna mast on my 1993 SR5 pickup, I found one on eBay but I think most of the ones listed on eBay are either manual antenna mast or power antenna mast but not the complete assembly.

Here's a link to an auction about a complete power antenna but before ordering, I'd check to see it's really what you need first!

Just why are you removing it??

Then depending where you live they do corrode interesting how all these write ups are in The Southwest USA and things just come apart so easy.

I just cut off the mast and unbolt it and pull out the cable fishing the new cable in can be the hardest part

Making sure the grommet is in good shape so the cable does not cut on the sheet metal.

I'm southwest USA and I don't have any corrosion issues.

If the part is stock, take advice as above. if the part is not stock, there could be a nut holing it from the bottom side? My non-stock one was very stupid like that. worse comes to worse, get some channel locks and strong arm the sucker.

Ger a new regular antenna, $20 bucks. Easy install.
