1993 22re VAF meter cold+moisture problems
Greetings,
I'm an amateur. I have done some basic work on the truck. I was hit -n- run last year, on the side with the volume air flow meter. No cracks in the housing but it did receive high G-force.
The problem: warm temps, with or without moisture, truck starts fine. Cold temps (around or below 32 deg) and DRY, generally starts O.K..
When it is cold and moist, will not start. i have used a hair dryer to isolate heat to different parts and everytime, when I heat up the VAF meter, the engine turns over fine.
Any suggestions? I'm trying to avoid blindly buying a VAF and I don't want to fiddle too much with it (since with heating it works) till I know more.
I have run the meter tests (all checkout) and pretty reliably know it's the VAF.
Any suggestions would be most welcome,
Kevin
