1992 4Runner won’t stay idling

Hello, I have a 1992 4Runner with the 3.0 in it (I know not the best motor) but when I bought it I was told it had to have a fuel problem. Well that’s not the case from what I’ve seen. I have checked the EFI relay and it seems ok and operational. The mass air flow sensor has been replaced. Only problem I could find physically is that the egr control module had all the ports broken off it. But I don’t think that would make it not want to idle. Any help would be great.

Actually, it would. Not just because all the vacuum lines are now leaking, but the EGR valve, if not functioning properly, can do that. You should also check the tube that feeds from the EGR valve into the Throttle Body. If that's clogged, and they tend to, it can cause you lots of troubles.

Did you check the o-ring on the Idle Adjust Screw? If it's cracked or broken off, that can cause some idle problems.

Is the TPS properly adjusted? If it's Idle contacts aren't making properly, it can give wrong information to the ECU.

Good luck! I hope something in my rambling is some help...
