1991 Truck 3vze Cooling Fan Compatibility

1991 Truck 3vze Cooling Fan Compatibility
I have a 1991 DLX 4x4 pickup with the 3vZE. The fan which has the built in shroud is trashed. Its the one that looks like a wheel. Can I use a regular fan from a later model or would I need to install a shroud. Any other related comments welcome.
